How bad is the Wildlife Problem Where u live?

Canada Forum - Relocation, Moving, Local City Discussions - City-Data Forum - www.city-data.com
Now I'm just a little bit curious as to how things are like on Vancouver Island.

In the past I wanted to move from Calgary to either Nanaimo or Victoria bc until I

heard about the Cougar Problem & that Vancouver Island in general has the highest

density/ concentration of Cougar's (Living among people), not only in B.C.

but in the entire World in general.

So anyways how bad is it in general? Is it something that would or could potentially

be a concern for someone like me living in 1 of those Cities?

Are the Animals known to attack or even kill people? (Especially in more Suburban Areas?)

Do I need to own a Gun or Weapon of somekind & would I even be allowed to

in Victoria Island?

Is Victoria Island a dangerous place full of Wild Animals? Sometimes I think I would

be better off in Mainland Bc then instead, is my fear merited/ reasonable?

Also I'd like to know what some of the crazy wildlife stories many other's may

have had or encounter's in their respective Provinces & Cities

as well, is it anything life threatening or similar to Bc or Vancouver Island in general?

Post ur comments below folks!
