Semi-Retirement in Delaware (work in DC), possible?

Delaware Forum - Relocation, Moving, Local City Discussions - City-Data Forum - www.city-data.com
Here is my situation....I am heading into semi-retirement, with full retirement to follow in a couple years.

I have had it with the expense and rat race of living in DC.

My employer will allow me to work from home, as long as I come into the office in DC/once week.

I hate to stay here and continue to pay DC housing and cost of living expenses, when I only need to go in a few times/month.

I am thinking about leaving DC and renting somewhere less hectic and only going back once/week when I have to.

I have always loved the DelMarVa peninsula - thinking I could not go any farther east than Annapolis if commuting options aren't great...but maybe I could stay in a hotel closer to DC and live closer to the Delaware beaches for the rest of the week.

If any of you know of anyone who has a similar arrangement, would love to know how you make it work. Thanks
