Great-tailed Grackle?

Nature Forum - Animals, natural world, earth, life - City-Data Forum - www.city-data.com
I'm not very knowledgeable about wild birds, and suffer severe allergies to most domestic types - but I do enjoy watching & listening to some, and like learning about nature in general. Anyway, I'm in Texas (Austin) for the first time right now, and quickly noticed a bird I'd never seen before. It's a small black bird with a long tail, very shiny, and makes the craziest sounds! I did a quick internet search, and am fairly sure it's a Great-tailed Grackle.

But as I said, birds aren't really my thing... so I was hoping someone could tell if I'm correct? And is there anything interesting to know about these birds? Here's the best picture I could manage, and also a video to hear their strange call. Hopefully the video works (click on image to play):
