Raileurope Caution

Miriam, Your firm only informs one that the ticket is unchangeable after you have a problem. The trip was booked and there was never any notice that it was NON CHANGEABLE or refundable. In fact your site shows that fares are refundable at 80% of the value if over 10 Euros. Errors do occur and the lack of consideration from your firm is inexcusable. Return ticket were purchased in excess of your so called 10 Euro minimum for exchange or refund (23 Euros). Your minimum figure (10 Euros) is only presented only after you deducted all your hidden fees and decided that two return tickets were actually 4 tickets for two people. This is inexcusable. It is unfortunate that people like me do not read the reviews concerning your firm and put our trust in the honesty and compassion a business should exhibit when a simple error is made by selecting a date in error by pressing the date on your calendrer next to the one intended. This was addressed within an hour of the booking. You informed me in a previous email that I could exchange the tickets at the train station prior to the booked date. I simply asked if this could be exchanged as suggested for the required date for the same route at a station in another city. I wrote several emails to you and each one is responded to with a different and contradictory answer. It is unfortunate that that customer relations at raileurope.com has never considered customer service. Your company is truly not deserving of the public’s trust and the only way one should purchase a ticket is at the train station. Ron Toronto, Canada

Thank you for contacting Rail Europe. We are here to assist you.

Here is the information that we receive when attempting to process a refund. Regrettably, your round trip tickets are non-refundable and since they are only changeable this change can only be processed at the train station before the scheduled departure time. Unless you are going to be at the Livorno station on August 29 or August 30 before 8 am, you will not be able to make this change. For this reason, we ere hoping that if the tickets could be canceled, new tickets will have to be purchased. At this point, if the tickets cannot be used as ordered, new tickets will have to be purchased,which can also be done at the train station upon arrival.
