Transfer time between Terminal 5 and 4 in JFK
In May 2017 I will be visiting New York and St Lucia. I have already booked my flights.
My return trip home from St Lucia is with Jet Blue Airways and will arrive at JFK (Terminal 5) at 19:19pm.
Jet Blue document this here: http://help.jetblue.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/webisapi.dll?New,KB=askblue,Case=obj(4432)
I will need to collect my bags, 2 suitcases. (The flights are in no way connected, although they do partner: https://www.thomascookairlines.com/en/book-plan/flight/partner-airline-routes/usa-mexico-and-beyond.jsp)
I understand I will need to get the AirTran.
I then need to get a connecting flight to Manchester, UK. This flight departs JFK (Terminal 4) at 22:00pm. For this flight a purchased a priority package which will allow me to use the fast lanes at security (https:/…priority.jsp)
Thomas Cook document their terminal here: https:/…terminal-information.jsp
My questions are
With the priority lane to get through security a little faster, the distance between terminals 4 and 5, and 2 hours 40 mins between flights, will I make my connecting flight? How much time will I have to spare?.
I have seen some people mention that 1hr 45mins is just enough.
Second to that, what is the absolute fastest way to transfer between these 2 terminals. Or any terminals in JFK for that matter just in case they change.
Finally, is there anything I can do to speed this up more?
