Forum Meet-Up - Memorial Day Weekend?
What are you doing Memorial Day weekend? (Memorial Day is Monday, May 29th.) The topic of a meet-up came up on another thread today.
My daughter and I met some new (old) TA friends at a meet-up around Thanksgiving last year, and had a blast. And of course, there have been many other fun successes.
Scott S suggested maybe the new Bill Cunningham exhibit at the New-York Historical Society.
The times that would work are a bit tricky for me, so I'm just throwing out some other ideas too:
230 Fifth (a favorite past meeting spot)? Other nice rooftop/patio type of spots? Terrace at the Yotel looks nice, as does Ink48. Berg’n in Brooklyn? What about a floating bar?
Shuffleboard in Gowanus anybody?
Fleet Week runs May 24th to 30th. Some of their activities might be fun.
A Yankees or Mets game? Not sure how to make that work with a group - maybe meet up before or after, and people do their own thing for the game.
There’s roller skating in Central Park. We're willing to meet up before, during, or after that. Daughter and I won’t have skates so can’t partake! But we’d love to watch and feel the beat! (I’m embarrassed by how much I love this little video - it really says ‘New York’ to me. All colors, all ages, all shapes, getting together and getting down!)
Other ideas, anybody?
And of course, this doesn’t revolve around me AT ALL. Whatever works for people’s schedules is awesome. If we can't make it I’m used to living vicariously through others’ trips anyway!
As for us, we will not be in town on Saturday, and have plans for later on Sunday afternoon, but other than that we are open to suggestion!
Thanks for reading - hope we can meet up some how/some way - if that weekend doesn't work - stay tuned! :)
