Good Morning from beautiful Paris
Arrived after an uneventful long long flight at 7.30 am yesterday to a temperature of zero degrees.
The immigration clearance was one hour and was painless. A hint for people is to remain patient as it is no use getting frustrated as some people were.
By the time we had passed immigration it was down to pick up our luggage then caught the the train into Saint Michel/Notre Dam All went very well as we had researched this part to make sure everything went smoothly and arrived at 9.30 am.
We walked the 800 meters to the Hôtel Milliesime and it is a lovely Hôtel and has a kettle in the room which is fantastic when you are both wide awake at 4.00am.
Dropped our luggage and hit the streets of Paris. The city is looking absolutely beautiful with the spring flowers blooming and everything lovely and green. The Tuileries gardens are one of my favourite areas of Paris.
We then had a quick lunch on Champs Élysées and the baguette was lovely. I am at loss to understand why the baguettes here are so good but they are.
Walked around some more then headed back to the hotel to checkin and freshen up. Total of 7 kms walk. We needed to dress warm as it was very cool.
When returning to the Hôtel we realised that we had to go to the prymadies to pick up the tickets for the Musee D Orsay. Would have been so handy to remember this while we were in the vicinity.
After freshening upand then leaving the hotel at 4.00 we walked around soaking everything in and I had forgotten how beautiful Paris is. The total walk for the days was 16 kms and we crashed into bed at 9.00pm.
Awoke to a few messages from home re the incident last night and as we didn't know anything about it can only go by what is on the news web sites.
Now at 6.30 am we are dressed and will head out for coffee and pain de raisin with the intention of visiting Luxembourg Gardens.
Looking forward to the Musee today, a long lunch and then a walk to Sacre Coure.
