Suggestions for hotels where you can step back in time?

Paris Forum, Travel Discussion for Paris - TripAdvisor - www.tripadvisor.com
My husband and I will be visiting Paris the first week of September. It will be my 1st trip and my husband's 2nd. We're looking for a romantic hotel experience where the decor and style is more traditional (Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Belle Epoque). Anything with a historic flair where it feels like you are stepping back in time. Definitely not funky modernism or ultra-contemporary. Budget is 300-400 euros/night or less. I love the look of Maison Souquet but I'm not sure of the neighborhood. We are drawn to the 3rd, 4th, and 6th arrondissements. Maybe 9th or 18th. We don't need to stay right on top of the major tourist attractions. We like to walk during the day but in the evening we want to have a selection of great restaurants and bars on our doorstep. We'd appreciate your suggestions. Thank you in advance.
