Does Farringdon station have on platform Oyster readers?
Question for the London locals.
We sometimes get questions where this is relevant. For example someone wants to travel to London on Thameslink from Gatwick or Luton on a paper ticket and then switch to Oyster:Contactless to connect to the tube. Luton requires a paper ticket and from Gatwick some want to use 2 for 1.
At Farringdon you can change from Thameslink to the tube without having to exit the station, very easy and step free. But if switching from National Rail paper to Oyster you have to touch in with Oyster (or vice versa if leaving London).
Hence the question. Are there on platform Oyster readers that allow the touch in/out without having to go upstairs, through the barriers and back again?
I negligently haven't bothered to check when I've been visiting. They do have them at Clapham Junction (for a similar switch) so Id expect them at Farringdon, but don't know.
