Hertz London Heathrow

London Forum, Travel Discussion for London - TripAdvisor - www.tripadvisor.com
Having rented through Expedia in Canada, I had the option to research different companies and decided to go with Hertz as they advertised the better price. I wanted a small car as we would be travelling through the south west of England with notoriously narrow roads. The car I chose said "mini" (Kia Picante or similar) and looked to have several options that would be workable for two people. When I got to Hertz I was informed I was assigned a Smart car which clearly would not have room for luggage for two of us. However, I was in luck he told me, as they had many cars on their lot and for an extra 30 pounds per day I could have an SUV. I stated I did not want a car that big and we settled on a SEAT Ibiza which cost an extra 180 pounds for my 18 days. When i complained that perhaps their advertising could be clearer and that a " "mini" might not be the same size as an Austin Mini, the attendant said that yes he hears that a lot. I felt duped and "sold up" and am complaining to Hertz customer service.
