Booking a tour in a different language in the colosseum...

Rome Forum, Travel Discussion for Rome - TripAdvisor - www.tripadvisor.com
We were trying to book an English tour for the underground and third ring tour but they had sold out. I noticed the Italian tour has pretty much consistent availability. Would it be worthwhile just booking this one for access even if neither of us speak the language? Would it even be feasible to be very cheeky and tag on to the English tour going at the same time? Or is there any reading/audio material to bring to make it more worthwhile?
