Suggestion for 1 night stop-over in Rome+ Bus is reliable?

Rome Forum, Travel Discussion for Rome - TripAdvisor - www.tripadvisor.com
Hello all,

I will arrive to Rome at 5:50pm on 25 Dec and take another flight to Prague on 26 Dec at 12:40 noon.

Would like to know where to stay will be better for commuting between city centre and Fiumicino Airport?

I would like to take a look around the city centre at night or in the early morning before the flight.

Also, about the bus transfer service from/to the airport,

I found that I could take the Leonardo Express Airport Train from/to city centre, but it's quite expensive (costs $14 each). And there are 2 bus companies provide the transfer service which cost only $4-$5 each, but the comments said the buses may be full even you buy the ticket, you may not get on the bus.

So would like to know whether the bus transfer is reliable? And which one I should book?

STI or Terravision? Is it I need to print out the copy and show to the staff at the bus stop?

Coz I have no experience in taking this bus.

Thanks a lot!
