Afternoon tea, oft repeated query, but bear with..

London Forum, Travel Discussion for London - TripAdvisor - www.tripadvisor.com
Am going to London on April 5th to spend the day with two of my daughters, we want to have afternoon tea but they are young and feel that having afternoon tea in a conventional hotel is a bit twee, can anyone think of a quirky kind of place in London that does afternoon tea, not too expensive, we don't drink champagne, we just want a few sandwiches, a pot of tea and some cakes.

They are thanking me for being a mum tomorrow so I am returning the favour next weekend because they have been fantastic during some pretty tough times recently.
