British Airways Non-Refurbished 747- Help Please
I am hoping someone can offer some positive thoughts on our upcoming (in one month) BA 0292 flight from IAD to LHR enroute to CDG; it will be 3 of us (me, my husband, and little boy) in World Traveler seats on an non-refurbished 747. This will be our first international trip together as a family. Before I booked our flights, I was told by a BA representative that the flight I was considering would be on one of the refurbished planes; but this was not true.
The reviews I've read on Seat Guru for the 747 v. 1 are just horrible. I would not be so concerned if it were a just a few but almost every review is negative. Has anyone flown one of the non-refurbished 747s lately who can offer some glimmer of positivity? Is the 747 v. 1 the correct seat map for our flight?
I also did not pay for advance seating. I read that 3 days prior to departure BA will assign seats together for families based on availability, and that I can change those seats if I don't like them 24 hours to departure. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
