Driving to Red Deer AB, Canada from Las Vegas NV

Will be driving to Red Deer to meet a friend with 2 teens and a pre shool aged kid mid July. The longest drive I've ever done is about 450 miles. We plan to stay in Alberta for about 3 days, spending 2 nights there. Total length of time alloyed for the trip is 7 days. Any suggestions on best/safest place to stop to take a quick nap along the way? Interesting places to visit along the way? Any helpful tips on how we can safely do this will be greatly appreciated.
