Feedback on possible towns- good commute, school and walkable

New Jersey Forum - Relocation, Moving, Local City Discussions - City-Data Forum - www.city-data.com
We are looking to move to NJ from South Brooklyn. Currently have a toddler and baby so timeframe is about 2-3 years from now. What we are looking for : house or townhouse with 3 BR ~500K (600K max), ~1hr commute door to door to lower Manhattan, Good schools, walkable, (preferably does not need to drive to car), diverse (would be nice to have other Chinese in neighborhood) and not too stuck up. Here is a list of towns on my list and love to get some input specifically on pros and cons of each.

-Ridgewood

-Glen Rock

-Rutherford

-Westfield

-Fanwood

-Scotch Plain

-Fort Lee

-Maplewood

-Montclair

-FairLawn

-River Edge

Thanks in advance
