Road Trips Forum - TripAdvisor -
I've been working on putting this road trip together and would love to hear what you think!

Also would love some suggestions of things to do when in each area if you have ideas. =)

-This is from June 15th-July 15th, my husband and I will be traveling in a 2500 RAM and pulling our 36 ft Keystone Sprinter (travel trailer).

-We are 29 and 32 years old, just married one month ago.We love to hike and explore outdoors, we love music, and we will also be bringing our road bicycles with us.

-Starting and ending in Colorado/Denver area.

June 15/16 : camping @ Lakewood campground near Morrison, Colorado and seeing a 2-night show at Red Rocks Amphitheater

June 17- going west to Frisco, Colorado to spend time with friends and ride the bike path from Vail to Frisco and back again. Will camp in their yard this night.

June 18,19,20- Camping at Difficult Campground in Aspen

-will ride the Rio Grande Bike Trail

-will research more to find out what hikes we can do since we would love to see as many wildflowers as possible

June 21,22,23- still have to figure out where to go these dates. Trying to decide between Steamboat Springs area and Guanella pass. We are having trouble because all the campgrounds are already reserved on these dates, so I think we are going to hope for the best on a first come/first served spot or wind up in dispersed camping areas.

June 24- drive to Iowa - camp somewhere along the way- potentially Nations Bridge County Park. This is just an overnight rest on the drive to Chicago.

June 25- drive the rest of the way and arrive in Chicago by nightfall. Park the camper at my moms storage unit and spend 2 days with family. Do laundry, grocery shopping, etc.

June 26- still in Chicago

June 27-early AM- pickup camper and drive to Rothbury Michigan

June 27-July 2- camping at a music festival in Rothbury Michigan

-hike around here - still researching but Miners Falls & Munising Falls are on the list

July 7 & 8- Camp at Union Bay Campground in the Porcupine Mountains State Park

-still looking into specific hikes and activities for this area still

July 9- drive through Duluth and then down south of Minneapolis, spend the night at Nerstrand Big Woods Campground

-potentially unhitch and drive back into Minneapolis to bike the Grand Rounds with a friend who lives in the area, or have dinner, if we arrive early enough in the afternoon and aren't exhausted.
