The Grand Central Oyster Bar
Hi.... looking For feedback I can trust. I’ve been back and forth on 100 different “review” sites and can’t make up my mind.
I was thinking of making a reservation for the Grand Central oyster bar on my upcoming trip.
However in all of the different review sites online (I’ve checked Google, yelp, trip advisor, open table, and a couple of others) there are such widely varied reviews.
They all seem to either be fantastic or dreadful. And there were a few with people who said the fish itself is bad/turned. I really don’t know what to do here given that it’s such extremes of experience.
I am looking to go there specifically for raw bar oysters.
Anyone have any recent experience or thoughts with this restaurant? Or a suggestion of an alternative?
I would like to be near Midtown - if it all possible not further south Than the low 30’s and probably no further north than the mid 50s (west side). We are going to Birdland later that night so I’d like to keep to a 30 minuet stroll.
Also, if we do go to Grand Central oyster bar, is it better to have a reservation and sit in the dining room, or to do walk in and sit at the counter?
