Help Arranging our Three-Day Itinerary
We are visiting London for the first time in July. Will arrive on Eurostar late in the evening from Paris on a Friday, so we will have full days Saturday, Sunday and Monday. To avoid criss-crossing town too much and maximize our time, we are looking for help arranging our itinerary. Here's our wish list, with #1 having highest priority:
1. Tower of London tour
2. Kensington Palace - wife HAS to see Diana's dresses!
3. Windsor Castle tour
4. Westminster Abbey tour
5. Buckingham Palace - realizing we can only see from outside as tours don't open until the latter part of the month. We are early risers and would probably get up VERY early one morning and wander around the area before it gets too crowded. Would also like to squeeze in Royal Mews tour if possible.
6. St. Paul's Cathedral - tour if time permits.
7. Churchill War Rooms
8. Borough Market - is this something we could do very early one morning as well?
We realize that Windsor is not close to anything else, and are assuming that we'd need to allocate at least a half-day for this alone, but we are fine with that.
On any of the days or evenings, we'd also like recommendations for some great non-touristy fish and chips for lunch or dinner while we are in that area. We love eating local food when we travel, so any other hole-in-the-wall local place recommendations are appreciated.
We have HRP memberships, so we can be somewhat flexible arranging Tower of London and Kensington Tours. Do we have time, or should we visit any of the other HRP sites as well?
Two of us, no children, staying within walking distance of Tower of London.
Thanks in advance!
