Lining in CancerHell Oregon to think I paid good money to move here should have stayed where I was.
CENTER]Ya Got love Oregon
Let's see where to begin, Parts of Oregon are cancer cluster areas, (we're in one) you can NOT drink the water, a fact we are reminded of every month when our city sends out the bad water quality notice - with the reminder to NOT drink the water & we have to go in for our Chemo/Radiation treatments. Heck the water isn?t even fit for the dogs, every time we have a tumor removed from the dog, the vet chides us for letting her drink it (can we help it if she likes the toilet over her bottled water bowl, locking the door doesn't help - she just claws her way in.) I paid good money to move here - should have stayed where I was.
Hey while you're on your merry way moving here please be sure to bring some industry other than Pot Grow operations, Drug sales, Timber/Logging (can't log here anymore) , Government Agency (Not many anymore, they closed most of our offices) or Food Service (too many bars & not enough affordable liquor) Ranching & Farming (If you're either you're in trouble - must be all those imports from places like Argentina, Mexico, China & Peru. - don't eat the jalapenos (tell that to the Tomato Farmers))
Take that back we did have one guy come here from Detroit, Ill. he dropped 300k in fixing up and dilapidated restaurant, now we all told him not to ? he did it anyway ? now he?s loosing his shorts to make matters worse he just found out that the fine print in is contract says he just leasing the building/land for 99 years & don?t own it ? if he leaves he has to pay all 99 years ? the ole bitty that let him have it ? seen him a coming & retired happily. (It?s true) He should have spent some of that 300k on a lawyer.
Be prepared to live with one over priced grocery store that is closed on holidays and is never open on Sundays, everything except the bar is closed before 9PM
You could drive 'X' + miles to the Grocery store in the next town & pay twice as much as the one I'm in but you better get there before nine Mon-Sat. or seven on Sundays.
Better bring a lot of good smelling candles or incense because in the summer months the scent of cow poop surges through the air mightily don?t forget to bring 365+ changes of clothes for anything over size four toddler - or drive 198 miles to Bend or Boise (give or take a dozen miles) The water here will stain every bit you have & you can?t even buy fabric because the gals that own the shops buy $1.00 a yard fabric & sell it for $5.99 (really we seen them do it )
BTW: Do NOT Hit the expensive Equines or Brainless Bovines Blocking roads - because if you do, you'll be buying watered down hamburger for the price of Filet Mignon (It's open range folks & that scraggly old mule or cow you just hit is a "Prime Animal worth thousands of dollars" and you have to buy it and four generations more - even a the sterile Mule (No ****)) If you?re going to hit anything make sure it?s a Deer (don?t try to eat it or you & the other inmates will be eating it jail)? you?re car may be totaled but at least you?ll still be alive unlike hitting an elk around here ? which has happened ? may both the drivers & the Elk rest in the Peace. Have mercy on the poor Deer, it was just crossing the road to get the next yard so it could polish off what it didn?t finish yesterday.
We?d be moving but we?re too broke to leave & Law Abiding to sell drugs, unlike some of our neighbors; But we?d sure like to know how they get away with it, because with our luck we?d get caught, we like having a clean record, even when we?re tempted by the access to unlimited healthcare benefits, sure would make dealing with cancer a hell of easier ? imagine that legally smoking pot in jail, with 3 squares a day, don?t even have to clean up after ourselves. (Damn our parents for making us so dammed honest ? must ? a - been that Bible-Belting nothing like the good book on a bad-A_s, to keep you on the ?Right? path.)
Oh give me a home with dirty air and clean water ? Canada here I come at least I?ll be cool when global warming gets here & hey I might even work more than the 12 hours a week I work now (only kind-of job you can get here w/ a B.A. in Business & a B.S. in Computers) if I?m lucky the Canadians will throw in some food & medical.
