Non chain family friendly restaurants

London Forum, Travel Discussion for London - TripAdvisor - www.tripadvisor.com
Will be in London for a week in late October. Looking for non chain restaurants that are family friendly (8 and 12 year old kids traveling with us). When we travel we like to eat local food. Would like to avoid pizza, burgers (ie typical American foods). Any suggestions? Also my son is gluten free so any kid friendly gluten free recommendations would be appreciated. I've seen lots of GF options from this forum. Does anyone know if Modern Pantry, M, Leggero are kid friendly?
