Paddington to Earl's Court via the Tube

London Forum, Travel Discussion for London - TripAdvisor - www.tripadvisor.com
One advantage one gets from planning a trip far in advance (September in this case) is learning from each new iteration of one's itinerary. The current version has us returning to London via rail and arriving at Paddington Station in the early afternoon. Luckily, our London accommodations are near the Earl's Court Tube station.

We will arrive with luggage (a large roller bag, a small roller bag plus a couple of pieces of hand luggage). Do you think that the Tube is a good option for us, or should we rely on a taxi? If a taxi, what do you estimate the fare would be? Since this trip would probably be the only time we ride a London taxi, I'm not opposed to paying a bit just for the experience.
