Pre-Itinerary Planning: First Day in Paris
My dad & I will be in Paris for the first from April 2 - 9 and after reading a few books, multiple articles, and posts on this thread - I want to start putting an itinerary together. I know it is early (& things will probably change, as I keep reading), but I need things to keep me busy till the trip - it is all I think about!
Note: We are staying at the Hotel Mercure Paris Centre Tour Eiffel (15th bordering the 7th).
One thing that I have been trying to figure out is our first day in Paris. We land at 7:00am, and I figured that we'll be at our hotel sometime around noon-ish.
I was planning on doing an evening boat tour (around sunset). I figured it's a relaxing way to see the city. Followed by dinner.
We will need a good day activity to keep us busy after dropping off our luggage at the hotel.
I know we will be somewhat exhausted after the flight from AZ, but I want to stay up till it is bedtime to get on a good sleeping schedule (also, I never feel good after waking up from a nap so I want to avoid taking one). I don't know if we'll be up for a crowded main site, but I also don't want to waste a day.
Can anyone recommend things that they have done on the day they landed that were productive but not overly exhausting/overwhelming? We will have approx 4-5 hours of time that needs to be filled.
