US visitor Checking free on-street parking EDGEWARE tube
This corrects my request a couple of hours ago, in which I unknowingly mixed up Edgeware and Hendon.
I am looking for advice for Edgeware on-street parking as explained below, but misread my notes from an earlier UK trip and wrote Hendon instead without realising. To avoid wasting anyone else's time, and hopefully to stand a chance of actually receiving the proper advice I have deleted the original query and added this instead.
With thanks and embarrassed apologies to Wardms, fuschia 2014, adamhornets and verity 1 for kindly responses there.

I visit the UK at intervals, and I'm coming in April to see a friend on her birthday as part of a longer trip to Europe with a US friend who hasn't been to England before.
I was last across in 2012, and as before I rented a car to get around areas that aren't so smooth by rail.
When visiting London for a day's shopping I have always parked on the street near to a Tube station off the bottom-end of the M1 motorway and carried on in that way - so much a better experience than crossing a virtual War Zone in to the center and then paying as much as my airfare to park there for a few hours!
Many years ago I could park easily for free a couple of streets from Brent Cross tube, but then that later became a restricted zone and I had to move a little farther north up the line to be able to do the same thing.
In 2012 I did that at EDGEWARE no problem after reading advice in that regard on this forum, and I am posting this now because I want to check if that's still doable today.
So could someone either local to there or who perhaps does the same thing, advise me if Oakleigh Gardens/Kings Drive area of EDGEWARE just off Green Lane a little south of the Edgeware Way roundabout is still outside the restricted parking zone and free, please, as it might well have changed in 5 years.
I know I can always park at the shopping center close to the station if there's space, but if I can save a little by just parking on the street a short walk from there again that would be good.
I'd be very grateful for any info from someone familiar with that today, thanks!
